Image-guided diagnosis and treatment system

Image-guided diagnosis and treatment system aims to describe the past, current, and future applications of imaging in the diagnosis, saging, treatment, and outcome assessment of cancer of the prostate, central nervous system, and breast. Given the multitude of advances in image-guided biopsy and treatment.

Image-guided diagnosis and treatment system can be use nanosized materials with good photothermal conversion capability can produce much heat after being irradiated by near-infrared laser in different wavelengths, such as 808 nm, 980 nm and 1064 nm. When treated by such nanomaterials and light, tumor cells can be ablated as a result of local temperature increase, which is named as photothermal therapy (PTT).

Image-guided diagnosis and treatment system can be acquired by dual imaging technologies: the near-infrared fluorescence images and the photothermal images acquired by an in vivo imaging system and a thermal imaging camera, respectively. This new platform is a good diagnosis and treatment system and has the potential for further theranostics application.

PTT and photodynamic therapy (PDT) are both dependent on laser irradiation, so by rationally choosing the photosensitizers to match with the PTT agents’ absorbance peak, the combined PTT&PDT system can be synchronously controlled by the “on-off ”of the laser with the same wavelength
